At PQA, you may have noticed that we appreciate sports analogies. Earlier this summer, PQA CEO Micah Cost discussed what baseball and quality measures have in common. In keeping with the baseball theme, PQA is entering the top of the 7th for 2023, and there is still plenty of time for members to get in the game.

2023 PQA Leadership Summit and PQA Convenes: Advancing Medication Therapy Management Quality Measurement
In November 2023, PQA will host two high-impact events focused on distinct areas of quality.
The 2023 PQA Leadership Summit, November 2-3, is focused on measure modernization and PQA’s role in the national effort to advance and align measures across providers and value-based programs. Meeting attendees will participate in meaningful sessions to address measure alignment, patient and caregiver engagement, digital measures and interoperability.
Preceding the Leadership Summit on November 2 as a stand-alone event is PQA Convenes: Advancing Medication Therapy Management Quality Measurement. This event will bring together PQA members and the broader MTM stakeholder community to discuss the state of MTM practice, implications of recent policy proposals, and opportunities to evolve MTM measurement.

PQA Medication Use Quality Continuing Education Program
PQA has updated its Medication Use Quality Continuing Education program, available now as individual courses or as a full certificate. The program features courses dedicated to quality measurement and strategies to improve medication safety, adherence and appropriate use. It emphasizes real-world examples and best practices. Entry-level professionals through senior leadership can benefit from content in the program. Register today to progress your knowledge of quality medication use.
Academic Programs
PQA’s academic programs have continued to adapt and expand to meet member and student needs, including the addition of the Healthcare Quality IQ program in 2023. Applications for internships and advanced pharmacy practice experiences (APPEs) will open soon. Check out these and all of our student programs, and be sure to pass along opportunities to students you teach or mentor.
PQA Annual Report
Today, we published the 2023 PQA Annual Report of Progress Towards Blueprint PQA 2025. This collection of accomplishments from September 2022 to August 2023 captures the efforts of our members and staff over the past 12 months.
The work across the four goals in Blueprint PQA 2025 would not have been possible without each of our valued members. Thank you for your continued support of PQA! We are excited to continue working with you in the year ahead.
How To Stay Up-to-Date
These programs are just a glimpse of all that’s available to PQA members. Our member resource library, exclusive to PQA members, is updated frequently with upcoming opportunities, including webinars, meetings, self-nominations for workgroups and publications from PQA.
Beyond the member resource library, PQA members can stay updated with our frequent email and newsletter communications. Members can sign up for our Quality Forum Webinars and Quality Connections Newsletter.

To round out the baseball analogy, the accomplishments featured in the 2023 PQA Annual Report demonstrate that PQA scored well in the first six innings of 2023. However, we need our members involved to finish strong. We look forward to the months ahead to extend our lead and further our impact on quality medication use.
