What is PQA’s medication use quality continuing education and certificate program?
A 15-hour, self-paced, online course designed to help healthcare professionals understand and implement effective quality improvement programs.

Who will benefit from participating in the program?
The program is designed for healthcare professionals, who are interested in quality measurement and strategies to improve medication safety, adherence and appropriate use. Whether you’re focused on internal quality improvement or value-based payment models, you’ll gain valuable insights and strategies for delivering better results.

Is continuing education (CE) credit available through the program?
Pharmacists, physicians, nurses, and pharmacy technicians earn 15 hours of CE (1.5 CEUs) upon completion of the program.

How is the program offered? Can I take it at my own pace?
The program is offered online through self-paced modules. The final part of the program is a live, one-hour online interactive discussion. After you complete other program modules, you will receive invitation to sign up for the live discussion, which is offered twice monthly for your convenience.

How long do I have to complete the program?
You have 180 days to complete the program once you enroll.

There are two tracks – what is the difference?
Two tracks are offered, Building Expertise in Calculating Measures and Mastering Today’s Quality Landscape. Both tracks are divided into three parts. The first part of the program provides 10 hours of foundation content that is the same for both tracks. The second part provides 3 hours of elective content that varies between the tracks, allowing for a deeper dive into an area of interest. The final part of the program is a practice-based component, bringing together the entire program. Additional tracks may be added in the future.

Can I take additional elective content? What if I am interested in both tracks?
You are encouraged to choose the one track that is the best fit for you. The elective content will be available as a separate CE program in the future. Watch for updates from PQA regarding this offering. Additional elective tracks may be added in the future.

Is there a discount offered for PQA members? What about for academic members?
The program costs $225 for PQA members and $450 for non-members. Academic members receive a discounted price of $150 for faculty and $99 for students. Information on member pricing, discounts and group purchasing opportunities is available by contact PQA's education team at [email protected].

How do I access discounted pricing?
If you are a PQA member do not have a code from a previous PQA email or event, email [email protected] and request a code.
