2019 PQA Annual Meeting Highlights

The 2019 PQA Annual Meeting took place May 15-17 in Baltimore, Md. More than 500 individuals gathered to learn, network and engage with fellow pharmacy quality professionals. Check out the highlights! 

  • Keynote addresses from John O’Brien, Senior Advisor to the Secretary of Health and Human Services for Drug Pricing Reform, and noted author and researcher Aaron Carroll, who addressed the “Unsung Role of the Pharmacist in Patient Health.”
  • The opportunity to earn up to 3.0 contact hours (0.30 CEU) of continuing pharmacy education (CPE) credits. Eighteen meeting sessions offered CE.
  • More than two dozen exhibitors and “Innovation Theater” presenters whose products, services and programs support medication quality and pharmacy practice.
  • A naloxone administration training, where nearly 75 individuals were trained to save a life!
  • 37 poster presentations featuring new research on medication quality, measurement, implementation and evaluation.
  • PQA recognized 18 Medicare plan contracts with quality awards for high achievement or significant improvement in PQA medication quality measures.
  • PQA and the Community Pharmacy Foundation announced today the recipients of the 2019 Community Pharmacy Innovation in Quality (CPIQ) Awards.
  • The 2nd annual Healthcare Quality Innovation Challenge (HQIC), where three university teams competed for honors with technology-enabled solutions to improve healthcare quality.
